Round 14 of the 2019 AFL Premiership Season continues on Friday night with the Swans hosting the Hawks at the SCG. You can catch the big Aussie rules clash from 7:50pm AEST.
The Swans were brilliant in their Round 12 demolition job of the Eagles. They played with fantastic intensity from start to finish en route to an inspired win over the reigning premiers. The Swans still have plenty to do if they’re to get back in finals contention, but that big win could give them some serious momentum going forward.
On the other hand, the Hawks were really poor in their most recent match, going down to the Bombers comfortably at Marvel Stadium. That loss has left the Hawks in a precarious position on the ladder, making this match against the Swans a must-win.
PlayON have some fantastic tournaments on offer for the Friday night clash, highlighted by their $300 guaranteed contest, which you can enter for just $11. Check out our best daily fantasy tips for this Round 14 fixture below.
Gun for hire – Jake Lloyd ($16.3m)
The standout premium player in this match is Swans defender, Jake Lloyd. He’s having a career-best year and is absolutely loving the new kick-in rule, easily getting another 5-7 disposals via playing on from opponent’s points.
Lloyd is averaging a huge 111 per game and helped himself to a whopping 149 fantasy points in his most recent match against the Eagles. He and his fellow Swans defenders also get the soft match-up against the Hawks, who have given up the most fantasy points to opposition defenders this season. Lloyd has had seven 120+ scores from 12 aussie rules matches this season and should definitely be in your line-up.
Dud to avoid – Jack Gunston ($11.6m)
Jack Gunston is certainly a great player for the Hawks and has been for many years now. However, a couple of key reasons make Jack Gunston someone we’re going to be avoiding in this match-up.
Firstly, the Swans are the clear favourites to win this match and should have a lot more of the ball than the Hawks if it all goes to script. Secondly, Gunston and his fellow forwards come up against a really tough aussie rules match-up. The Swans have given up the fourth least amount of points to opposition forwards this season and they’re only getting stingier as the season progresses. We advise steering clear of Gunston, and any Hawk forward for that matter.
Point of difference – Dane Rampe ($11.2m)
The second Swans defender that we really like here is Dane Rampe. He’s another one having a really solid season and is continuing to improve each and every game. He’s averaging 78 points for the season but has increased that to 86 over his past five thanks to a huge 130 last time out.
We mentioned above that stacking Swans defenders are the way to attack this slate, due to how many fantasy points the Hawks allow opposition defenders to rack up. So, with that in mind, we have Dane Rampe being a really nice point of difference on Friday nights aussie rules clash.
