Every week at PlayON we take a look at three heroes and three zeros from the previous Premier League gameweek. Here we separate the fantasy football studs from the duds.

This isn’t the first time that Charlie Austin has taken up column space here and really that’s a testament to the speed at which he’s adapted to Premier League football. A flash in pan? Unlikely. Austin seems to possess the required abilities to be a success at this level for some time. It is clear however, that QPR are extremely dependent on him, probably overly so- and not just in goalscoring. Austin plays his part in the creative stakes, having turned provider on two occasions in recent weeks. At £8.9m he remains in the middle price bracket for forwards and is certainly worth a punt- facing a troubled Arsenal defence in Gameweek 18, it’s time to seriously consider him for your side.

The return of a fully fit David Silva could not have come at a better time. With the forced absences of Dzeko, Jovetic and, worst of all, Sergio Aguero, City should be depleted in attack. The reality is, that if Silva and Yaya Toure can consistently put in performances like they showed on Saturday, the two could go some way to fulfilling the goal quotas of the injured parties. The one complaint that is often leveled at the Spaniard is that he doesn’t hit the net enough for a player of his calibre; if he can get into the positions he occupied against Palace, we’ll see plenty more this season.
PlayON Price: £6.2m
With Toby Alderweireld pushed forward to occupy the midfield anchor position, the centre half role was freed up for Maya Yoshida to enter the starting line-up. The results were impressive. Alongside Jose Fonte, the Japanese international was a rock; stifling the Everton attack with superb positioning and concentration. He’s found his chances few and far between of late, but keeping a clean sheet and capping his performance with a goal here could throw him right back into contention. With Fonte now suspended for the next game, you can almost guarantee it.

GW17: -300 pts
It feels slightly unfair to label Speroni a “chump” in this regard. The Argentine and his Crystal Palace defence kept the wolves of Manchester City at bay impressively in the first half. City were just too much to contend with in the second period however, and Palace were overrun. The three goals conceded don’t really do his performance justice, but Speroni rounds off the Gameweek as the player with the lowest PlayON points tally.
PlayON Price: £8.9m
GW17: -225 pts
Seamus Coleman, an ever popular Fantasy player, will have let down his selectors at the weekend. The Irish international was unable to get involved in the game in the forward positions and was part of a defence that conceded three goals, ultimately yielding -225 PlayON points for himself in the process. Everton are in dire need a kickstart this season, but the upcoming fixture against Stoke may not be the time or place to do it.
PlayON Price: £8.2m
Given the way his Liverpool career has progressed to this point, it seemed almost inevitable that things wouldn’t go as planned on Sunday. The Italian almost scored from a header soon after his introduction and showed great energy and impetus- ultimately though, it was this that undid him. He was booked for dissent and later cut through Santi Cazorla in an honest but mistimed high foot challenge. Two yellows and Borini was in for the early bath. His game ended prematurely and it looks as if his Liverpool career could too.
