Gameweek 8 sees the return of Friday night football, allowing you to start the sporting weekend a bit earlier than usual. You can also start your Daily Fantasy Premier League weekend early too, with PlayON offering competitions across the round’s games.
To help you out, I have tried to pick out the best picks for your sides to help you maximise your scores and positions on the leaderboards, starting with Friday’s game:
Brighton v. West Ham
Fresh from the win over Man United last week, the Hammers look to continue their resurgence at Brighton, whose own victory over the Red Devils remains their only win this season.
The limited Premier League history in this one favours the home side. In the meetings last season, they came away 3-0 and 3-1 winners. On current season form however, these sides have just one clean sheet between them and feature two of the league’s top scorers in Murray and Arnautovic. Goals seem on the cards then, bringing the attackers into the frame for daily fantasy.
With four goals and an assist this season, Marko Arnautovic (£11.5m) is in ‘first picked’ territory, especially if you are playing for this game alone.
The Austrian bagged one against United last out with a well taken finish, and has a DFS average of over 1400. When you look at his price compared to some of the other in-form strikers, he is a must-have.
A quieter game last week against the champions, but Anthony Knockaert (£8.6m) has had a great output for the season so far, with three goals and an assist.
Murray is the likely candidate to bag any goals for the Seagulls, but Knockaert would be my favourite to have provided the assist for them.
Looking at his overall average of 650, and last score of just 410, there are many who might overlook Andriy Yarmolenko (£9.3m) this week if playing purely based on those stats.
Don’t be fooled!
After a bit part role up to round four, the winger has had three straight starts, in which he has scored two and assisted one. His last DFS score is only low on the basis that his original shot was deemed to be off-target, otherwise he would be three-in-three and coming off a 1400.
He looks lively when he does play, and is likely to get another solid run in this one. Lock him in while many will not have him.
In the excitement of a returning Friday game, don’t forget to enter your teams and be sure to come back and read through the previews for Saturday and Sunday games as the action continues at PlayON.
