Daily Fantasy Premier League Preview: 28 Oct

daily fantasy premier league picks week 10

After six games on Saturday, the Premier League has three more Week 10 matches on Sunday – which also means PlayON have daily fantasy competitions for the day.

To turbo-charge your teams, I have cast my eye over the fixtures and picked out my best players for your squads. Let’s dive in.

Burnley v. Chelsea

Chelsea remain unbeaten after a late Ross Barkley equaliser against United last out, they sit in the top four. Burnley were hammered by City and are in the bottom half of the league after a mixed bag start.

Eight previous meetings at the top level between the sides, with the Blues victorious in five of those and the Clarets’ only win coming in the season opener last term.

Likely to see an away win here so my PlayON team will be full of their players.

At risk of sounding like a broken record, this has to go to Eden Hazard (£16.2m) again. Sure, he’s pricey and he did have a quieter one against United last out, but the man has seven goals and three assists in seven starts and two substitute cameos so far.

His PlayON average is nearly 600 more than anyone else in this game – Lock him in!

Value Pick

On the basis of discarding any Clarets’ players, my value pick goes to Jorginho (£7.4m) by virtue of him being £0.5m cheaper than Kante for the same average. Not one to get many attacking stats, the holding midfielder will benefit for the extra workload that usually comes with an away game. He has also played every minute so far so job security is not a concern.

POD Pick

One to watch the lineups for. If his midweek European hat-trick earns him a place in the starting side, jump on Ruben Loftus-Cheek (£6.8m). He will come into this full of confidence and looks to get into all the right positions.

Crystal Palace v. Arsenal

After starting with two losses, the Gunners have now won seven on the bounce in the league and ten in all competitions. A 2-0 loss to Everton mean Palace are winless in four and have lost the last three.

In 18 previous encounters, Arsenal have the significant edge, leading 13-2 in terms of wins. Last season saw two big Gunners victories with both teams finding the net.

An away win is the most likely outcome, but just two clean sheets for the visitors means the hosts could sneak a goal so your DFS sides could have room for one or two Palace players as well

What a goal that last one was against Leicester! A great team play, finished off by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£15.4m). He looks to have hit his stride after a slow start to the season, and has made his way to six goals.

He certainly knows where the net is, and the Gunners will find it in this one, so he is a good chance to add to his six here.

Value Pick

When teams go on the attack there is always value in the full backs pushing forward. For the Guners, that is Hector Bellerin (£7.7m).

He scored an own goal last out, but still finished the game with two assists, taking him to four for the season. He will push on in this and could lay on a few more goals.

POD Pick

A slow start to the season, but Mesut Ozil (£12.1m) looks to have come back into form of late. The touch to assist the third goal last week was sublime as well!

Some may wait until the form is more sustained to bring him in, but with two goals and an assist in his last three, bring him in for this week without hesitation.

Man United v. Everton

Closing out Sunday’s action is a fixture that has produced some exciting games over the years. On current season form that trend is likely to continue, with both sides scoring and conceding a few in the nine games to date.

52 matchups in the top flight have seen 35 United wins and nine draws. Both the games last seasons saw wins and clean sheets for the Red Devils, but with only three shutouts between them so far, I cannot see that being the case here, bringing the forwards from both sides into play.

Whilst the goals have dried up for Lukaku, Anthony Martial (£9.7m) has stepped up with three in the last two and an assist to boot!

Big minutes in his last three and he should get another start here on form. Likely to be involved in a Red Devils’ goal, he is definitely one to consider.

Value Pick

Pulling the strings for the Toffees this season, Gylfi Sigurdsson (£11.8m) has three goals in his last three. Averaging over 1700, he has the highest PlayON average of all players in this game.

Put him down for a goal or assist here and bring him into your sides.
