After a packed Boxing Day schedule, we close out Round 19 with one more game on Thursday. That means that PlayON are back with one more lot of Daily Fantasy offerings for this round and one last chance to take home the prizes – until Round 20 this weekend that is.
To get you one step closer to the prizes, I have gone through the days games and picked out my best plays to give your team the edge over the competition.
Southampton v. West Ham
A loss to Watford last out ended a good run of wins for the Hammers, who have climbed to mid-table after a slow start. Southampton followed up the win over Arsenal by beating Huddersfield 3-1 on the weekend and they have climbed further away from the relegation places.
A fair bit of Premier League history for this fixture – 32 games in fact. Of those, the Hammers have won 14 to the Saints 11, with seven draws in there. The last four have been just a close, with two wins each way in that time.
The Hammers form before last round should give them the edge, but the confidence of the home side could sway this back even. Probably more value in the forward players on each side then, especially given there’s been at least three goals in each of the last four.
He had done nothing all season, but Nathan Redmond (£9.4m) has a goal and two assists in his last two.
You only have to look at previous seasons as to what he is capable of. It is also likely no coincidence his return to form aligns to an upturn in the Saints fortune. Bank on the form continuing and bring him in.
Three goals in his last two and an average over 1500 is still performing above the current £10m price tag for Danny Ings.
Leading the Saints attack with seven goals this term, if he and Redmond link up here, they could cause a lot of trouble for the Hammers backline.
Javier Hernandez (£9m) has gone quiet the last couple of games. His average being under 1000 could also keep him out of opponents PlayON teams this round.
But beyond the surface, the Mexican has seen more game time of late with the injury to Arnautovic and has seen most of his goals and assists for the season come in that time.
He certainly knows where the goal is, although he’s battling a knock himself. If he does start, lock him in as most likely to bag for the visitors here.
With that, we draw to a close for Week 19. No time to catch your breath though, as this is Christmas silly season and Round 20 is back on Saturday.
For now though, head to the Games Lobby to enter your finals teams for this round.
