Daily Fantasy European Tour – Made In Denmark Preview

AALBORG, DENMARK - AUGUST 23: Fans cheer on the 16th hole during the final round of the Made in Denmark at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort on August 23, 2015 in Aalborg, Denmark.

Nine places are set for the Ryder Cup team, but a few players can still force their way into Darren Clarke’s team with a big performance. Can anyone manage it at the Made in Denmark?

Just two years old, the Danish tournament’s prominent place in the calendar has heaped the spotlight on it and maybe even bolstered the field as players like Shane Lowry make a last desperate attempt to impress Clarke.

Couple this with some of the most enthusiastic support on tour, and we’re sure to be in for an exciting week at the Himmerland Resort.

The course’s location on the Danish coast means players are often exposed to high winds and tricky conditions. When it’s calm, players can go low on the relatively short course, so keeping an eye on the weather forecast is important when looking at selections for the first two days.

High Priced Options

Bradley Dredge (€19.7m): Dredge has performed consistently well at this venue, finishing in the top six both years. He was runner up to Marc Warren in 2014. He started strong last week before fading over the weekend, but his form is good enough to challenge around a venue he clearly loves.

Thomas Pieters (€21.3m): Pieters narrowly missed out on defending his title last week as a cold putter saw him drop out of the lead and into second over the final two days. Combine that performance with a 4th place in the Olympics and you have a player playing as well as any on tour.

Mid Priced Options

Marc Warren (€17.4m): The 2014 Made in Denmark champion finished in a tie for 11th in Prague, after a barren run of form the previous month. That turn around could see him contend this week.

David Lipsky (€ 14.3m): Lipsky has finished in the top 15 at this event both years and finished in the top six in Prague. The stars seem to be aligning for a good finish for the American here.

Low Priced Options

Eduardo Molinari (€7.6m): Finished strongly with five birdies and an eagle during his final round in Prague. Molinari has made five cuts in a row without really threatening a decent finish.  Getting four rounds out of your low priced players is not to be underestimated and makes him a decent play this week.

Ryan Evans (€9.2m): Evans had a strong week in Prague, finishing third despite a disappointing Saturday. The Englishman has finished in the top 30 in three consecutive tour events and similarly to Molinari, has made the cut in five in a row.
