Get in the Game with PlayON – Home of Official Daily Fantasy CPL
Welcome back! This is Part 2 of our introduction to Daily Fantasy CPL on PlayON.
Part 1 took a look at the basics of how the game works. Now we will explore some of the more complex stuff in greater depth.
Remember, PlayON is the only place where you can play Official Daily Fantasy CPL online, and with over $25,000 in cash prizes to be won over the coming weeks, there’s plenty to get excited about!
Be sure to check out the $500 Free-Entry game that Digicel and PlayON will be running for each and every Hero CPL match! In addition, the PlayON Leaderboard combines each fan’s Top 3 Match scores over the tournament, with a first prize of $1,000. You’ll be able to take on the CPL Presenters in one-on-one challenges too.
Actively managing your teams is a big part of PlayON, so it’s important to know when and where you can do this.
(i) Viewing and Editing
Saved teams can be viewed in the Saved Teams section, which can be accessed via the Dashboard or main menu. You can edit or rename your saved teams at any stage before the start of a match. But remember – when you save changes to a team, those changes will apply in all of the games that you have entered.
When picking a new team, it’s also possible to import a saved team to use as a basis for your new one. To do this, click the “Import” dropdown in the Pick Teams area and select the saved team you would like to import. Now make any changes, and save. When you save changes to the new lineup it won’t affect games that you have already entered with the original one.
At PlayON we aim to cater for every type of fantasy sports player, regardless of skill level or experience. That’s why we offer a broad variety of games that differ by number of entrants, payout structure, cost of entry, and currency. You can search for games according to these criteria by clicking on the “Filter” button in the Enter Games page.
(i) Number of Entrants
One way that games differ is the number of entrants that are allowed to join the game. For example: we offer large multiplayer games like the CPL Free Entry $500 game, for those who want the chance to earn some money from their fantasy teams. Or, if it’s bragging rights that you’re after, we offer one-on-one games where you can take on your friends or other PlayON members.
(ii) Payout Structures
Payout structures range from a winner-takes-all format to a variety of other methods of distributing the prize pot. Here is a breakdown of our matrix payout structure, which is used for some of our larger games:
A full list and explanation of the different payout structures can be found by following the “Payout Structures” link in the footer.
(iii) Cost of Entry
If you’d like to enter games for real money, you can check out the Entry Fee and Prize Pot on the Enter Games table, and choose the game you’d like to enter. The majority of each entry fee is paid into the prize pot, with PlayON taking a small percentage as commission. A full breakdown of our commission structure can be found by clicking on the link in the footer. But don’t worry, we also offer plenty of free-entry games (many of which offer real cash prizes) if you just want to practice or play for fun,.
PlayON offers games in three different currencies: Sterling (£), Euros (€), and Dollars ($). To enter a game in a particular currency, you need to have a balance in that currency. So for example, if you’d like to enter a CPL game which is listed in dollars, you need to have a sufficient dollar balance. Depositing is 100% secure, can can be done by credit card, or using secure online payment Skrill. You can easily deposit or withdraw funds at any time by accessing the Account section.
We try to be as flexible as possible at PlayON, which is why we offer our customers the opportunity to create their own games. The “Create Games” area can be accessed through the Dashboard or burger menu. The feature allows you to choose the type of game (i.e. multiplayer or one-on-one), the entry fee, the payout structure, the number of entrants, and whether it is open to the public or invite only.
The “Challenge a Friend” function makes it possible to challenge anyone on the site to a one-on-one game, where you can compete for the all important bragging rights!
That concludes part two of our introductory series. We hope you’ve found it informative. Check out Part 3, where we delve into some of the strategic elements of PlayON.
