The Hurricanes and Chiefs face off at Westpac Stadium this Friday night in what should be an entertaining clash. Once again there are some great Super Rugby fantasy contests on offer at PlayON this weekend, including qualifiers to the Super Rugby $10,000 Super Contests, and the team at Daily Fantasy Rankings are back to help you with your fantasy lineups!
Check out their Super Rugby fantasy tips for Friday 13th April below:
Front Row – Chris Eves $6.9m
In the front row, we’re looking for a cheap option and Chris Eves at $6.9 million is a solid pick. He is listed on the Hurricanes bench but he still gets consistent minutes. In his four matches this season, he has played 60+ minutes in all four. He could potentially score 500+ points, which he showed in the Hurricanes win over the Crusaders.
2nd Row – Brodie Retallick $12.1m
The 2nd Row position is likely going to be a battle between Retallick and Louisi, and we are going to side with Retallick. He has more potential to score big, as he showed against the Sharks last week with 600 points. He also scored 995 in the first match of the season. So the extra price tag for Retallick should be well worth the price in the end.
Back Row – Sam Cane $12.8m
In the back row, Sam Cane is arguably the most reliable pick. The Chiefs co-caption is a very consistent scorer and plays for the majority of matches (455 minutes in six matches). He’s also crossed the try-line twice so far this season.
Scrum Half – Jamie Booth $5.4m
Jamie Booth looks like one of the best value picks for just $5.4 million. He’s coming off 315 points last week against the Sharks in 40 minutes. Hopefully he gets more minutes in this clash and scores 500+ points.
Fly Half – Beauden Barrett $16.8m
Beauden Barrett missed the win over the Sharks last week with a foot injury. But he will return for this clash and is really the only logical choice at Fly Half. He’s averaging 551 points per match. He does come with a high price tag but he can score 800+ points if this match becomes high scoring.
Centre – Charlie Ngatai $13.7m
In the centres, there isn’t much value but Ngatai looks like a decent pickup. He’s a cheaper option compared to Barrett and Lienert-Brown. He also moves to fullback this week and should score well. He is coming off a MCL injury but the Chiefs haven’t rushed him back with is a good sign.
Back 3 – Solomona Alaimalo $14.2m
Compared to Damian McKenzie (who is likely to miss this match) and his $24.4m price tag, Alaimalo is looking like the value pick in the Back 3. He’s already scored five tries this season and leads the Chiefs with 659 run metres. He’s averaging 889 fantasy points per match at PlayON and looks a great choice for your lineup.
