The Rebels head to Brisbane with the finals on their mind and they’ll be looking to continue a torrid season for the QLD Reds at Suncorp this Friday night. The team at Daily Fantasy Rankings are back to help you choose some of the best value picks in Super Rugby fantasy at PlayON this Friday.
See our Super Rugby fantasy tips for Friday 6th July below.
Front Row – Anaru Rangi $8.2m
In a choice between Rangi and Paenga-Amosa, we’re selecting Rangi based on his consistency. He averages 408 points this season and hasn’t scored under 338 points in his last five games. Paenga-Amosa mainly relies on tries to score around the same points as Rangi, which is always risky.
2nd Row – Izack Rodda $9.4m
In the 2nd Row, I’m slotting in Rodda from the Reds. He’ll cost just under $10m and is another consistent scorer. Before the International break, he arguably had his best game of the season and that amounted to 475 points. This week, he’ll return from a shoulder injury and the month off should help him start fresh for this contest.
Back Row – Angus Cottrell $9.8m
Angus Cottrell is showing good fantasy form and that should continue this Friday. Over his last five games, he’s scored 400+ in 4 of 5, with the last game seeing him reach 505 points. He’s well priced at $9.8m and will give you a solid option in the Back Row.
Scrum Half – Michael Ruru $7.3m
In a battle between Ruru and Sorovi, we like Ruru to outscore the Reds Scrum Half. Ruru found the try-line in the Rebels loss against the Waratahs and has been a reliable scorer this season. He’s averaging 399 points and he’s beaten that average in 3 of his last 5 games.
Fly Half – Duncan Paia’aua $12.3m
At Fly Half, Duncan Paia’aua from the Reds is lining up in the inside centre position this week. Last week against the Blues, he found the try-line and I can see him having success against the Rebels. Before the break, he scored 635 points as well. So he should be able to crack 500 points and more.
Centre – Tom English $13.2m
In the Centres, let’s go with Tom English from the Rebels. He’s coming off a solid game against the Waratahs, running for 59 metres with 2 tackle busts/1 line break. In his last two scoring games at PlayON, he has scored 645 and 895. So for around 6 million less compared to Kerevi, he’s capable of matching Kerevi’s score.
Back 3 – Dane Haylett-Petty $14m
Dane Haylett-Petty was a beast last week for the Rebels as he crossed the line, broke 4 tackles and ran for 94 metres. So I’m expecting the same against a poor Reds defence.
