The Hitlist: Gameweek 27 Injury and Suspension Update

Next Up: Manchester United (A)

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be out for up to seven weeks after suffering a serious knee injury against Barcelona. The cupboard is particularly bare in midfield, with three central midfielders out for game against Manchester United.

Aston Villa

Next Up: Stoke City (A)

Jordan Ayew is still suspended, while Amavi, Traore and Kozak have all been ruled through injury. Gabby Agbonlahor and Rudy Gestede will be fit to play after missing some training time over the weekend.

Lewis Grabban joins the trio of long term injured players in the treatment room courtesy of a groin injury, but it isn’t believed to be serious.

John Terry is a doubt with a hamstring strain which coupled with Kurt Zouma’s long term injury means Chelsea are suddenly short on central defenders. Pato and Falcao continue to show little signs of ever being involved in meaningful action. Maybe moving Loic Remy wasn’t such a good idea

Crystal Palace

Next Up: West Brom (A)

Palace’s injury woes are beginning to subside slightly, and the return to the starting line up of Yannick Bolasie would be a huge boost to a flagging season. Papa Soare replaces Wickham on the suspension list, while Bakary Sako will have to prove his fitness in order to take part at the weekend.

Leicester City

Next Up: Norwich (H)

Leicester City enjoyed a week off with no FA Cup game, so their squad should be as rested as any heading into Gameweek 27. They continue to enjoy remarkable good health, but Danny Simpson’s foolish sending off against Arsenal means he’ll miss the game with a suspension.

Manchester United

Next Up: Arsenal (H)

Manchester United’s injuries worsened last night when Anthony Martial limped out of the warm up. He likely won’t be taking part on Sunday. The back four fielded was extraordinarily patch work, but there is a chance Chris Smalling could return to the team in time for this game. David De Gea’s status is also up in the air.

Norwich City

Next Up: Leicester City (A)

Alex Tettey returns from suspension leaving Andre Wisdom as the only absentee for the Canaries. The defender has a knee injury.

Victor Wanyama is suspended yet again, meaning Southampton’s midfield will be lacking his power and strength. Florin Gardos and Jay Rodriguez are also injured.

Stoke City’s injury list has led to a dramatic downturn in their previously exceptional defence and really it’s no surprise. Shawcross, Marc Wilson and Glen Johnson are all ruled, while Phil Bardsley is a major doubt.

Duncan Watmore will miss several weeks with an ankle injury, but Sebastian Larsson (knee) should be fully recovered and take his place in the squad

Harry Kane gave fantasy owners a scare with a a broken nose suffered in training, but being the good solider that he is, Kane has vowed to play through the injury with the aid of a mask. Elsewhere Vertongen, N’Jie, Tom Carroll and Mousa Dembele will all miss the weekend’s fixture.

Jose Manuel Jurado has been added to the casualty list. His calf injury will see him miss the next couple of weeks.

Chris Brunt may have had his feelings hurt by the idiot fans who threw a coin at him after their FA Cup loss, but he’s fit to take part in his side’s game against Crystal Palace. Gareth McAuley and Craig Dawson should also be fit.
